Heskan is a man of few words. He is very kind and follows orders well. He is more likely to follow a woman’s orders above and beyond expectations. Heskan is loyal and strong willed, as well as incredibly honest and true in his intentions and words.
Heskan's mother was a part of the great ethnic and racial melting pot of Egypt. She was part of a wealthy family and was engaged, due to be married in the following year when she became an acceptable age. She was happy with her life, her fiance was a good, powerful man. One day, a trading caravan from far off in the East came through her home. A man in the group, a kind East Asian gentleman trader of scrimshaw and other carvings, found his way into her heart. Sweeping her off her feet, she fell deeply in love with the distant traveler. They met in the dead of night and planned to elope. On the day they were supposed to leave, he never arrived. She was left alone in the night and went home. Never again was she content with her life, and never once did she tell anyone of her secret rendezvous with the foreign trader. As the wedding drew near, she suspected she was with child. The trader's child. She could only hope that her wedding night would cover up her lie as she refused to get rid of the child growing inside of her before the time came. When a seemingly premature child was born, the families were in shock. He was a healthy child. Golden skin and eyes with raven colored hair- but his face was disfigured. A scar reaching around his right eye and back to his ear. They thought maybe it was just the wrinkling of skin from being in his mothers womb and arriving too soon. Maybe it would smooth out. But as he grew, the disfigurement did not go away, in fact it seemed to get worse as not only did his face remain scarred but his body grew larger than that of a normal child. They kept him in the home, away from prying eyes. His father loved him and still assumed the child to be his own. All the while, the child's mother knew that to be false. She saw the child's disfigurement as evidence of her lie. A punishment for her tryst with a handsome stranger. She held no love for the child. When he was about 7 years of age, his mother convinced his father that the child had no life here. No one would accept his disfigurement as he had. With a heavy heart, he agreed to send him away. The night before his departure, his mother told him about her secret. He knew why he was being sent away. A heavy burden for such a young child.
Over the next 5 years, He traveled. He took the name Heskan Ghesh and he was shipped around Europe, visiting different monasteries until he was finally landed in one near Venice. Here he met Kasiya. They became fast friends and Heskan became undyingly loyal to one of the first people he could call family. While in the monasteries, Heskan learned to read and write and began his knight training to join the Knights Templar . . .
Heskan: Good good.. -thinking for a moment- Perhaps try the hair of a dog? Though I am not usually one for more drinking after a night of heavy drinking, it will make you feel better. I may have something around here for you if you like?
(gonna switch to more lit- be more comfortable for me lol)
Ianto bobbed around on the floor, peeking up at Melek as Heskan searched for a drink. "Was that.. Spaniard a friend of yours?" he turned back to her, a half empty bottle in his hands and he took a quick look for a cup.
Melek perked a brow at Ianto before looking back up the man. "I actually just met him at a tavern after some thugs were messing with him." She frowned a bit, "..I think he was trying to get me drunk so I'd talk.." The young woman played with the cross around her neck as she watched him moved about the room.
After moving some miscellaneous items around, he found a cup and poured Melek a bit of wine, passing it to her with a look of empathy, "I see.. If he bothers you, you are free to come to me for help if you need it." Heskan chose to stay inside quite often, mostly only leaving to perform small errands or relax just outside the walls of his home.
